We worked with newly amalgamated cycling retailer BIKE UK to help them understand their new brand identity in the context of social media and maximise their community engagement for commercial benefit. The business, which currently owns two stores in Bristol and Taunton, wanted help understanding how they could retain a personal connection to their loyal local customer base in each location whilst using social media to reach out to a new audience. Ethical Goods helped with the set-up and initialisation of a social media dashboard and monitoring system and conducted staff training focussed on using social media to promote and sell product and grow following.

i2r manufactures a comprehensive range of wrinkle wall and smooth wall semi-rigid aluminium foil containers used throughout the food industry.
They provide high quality, light weight, robust aluminium foil packaging for many leading retail brands including “Cook”, “Gastropub”, “To Cook”, “Taste the difference”, “Finest”, “Simply Cook” and “Go Cook”. Their experienced development team is focused on custom designed innovative smoothwall tray solutions developed in conjunction with both retailers and food processors.

Ethical Goods conducted an audit process and accredited i2r as an ethical company using Global Reporting Initiative standards. We also created an engagement and marketing strategy for them to maximise the commercial opportunities of their corporate responsibility and social impact. Finally we created a charity partnership between i2r and KidsOut - a UK charity who provide special days out for thousands of disadvantaged children every year.

Founded in 1986, Costcutter is predominantly a franchise business and has grown from just seven stores in the York area to over 1,700 convenience stores and off licences across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Costcutter directly employs over 600 people nationwide and has its head office in York and an office in Belfast. Costcutter engaged Ethical Goods after hearing recommendations from two of our other business clients. We were contracted for an embedded consultancy project to help them develop a more effective charity giving and engagement initiative. The strategy and structure are now being rolled out across the Costcutter network.

As an innovative social enterprise of the charity DePaul UK, the DePaul Box Co was set-up to generate income for the charity and awareness of youth homelessness in the UK. As a young  business, the box company wanted Ethical Goods to test new routes to market and scope other potential ways to sell their boxes beyond an expensive brand launch. Ethical Goods helped them explore a number of sustainable business opportunities which could provide steady income for their business costs whilst they grow their consumer awareness. Used by some of the world's largest companies to manage their data for easy access by employees across the world, Gavurin now bring their expertise to the charity world. Having already proven the application's use and benefit to The Prince's Trust, they asked Ethical Goods to help them access other charity  clients who would find this dashboard helpful and profitable for their fundraising efforts. After a series of introductory meetings, Gavurin are now developing service relationships with some very well known charities in the UK.

Part of their offering involves giving away around 25% of their profits from every switch to charity partners. Ethical Goods has brokered the charity partnerships and developed the consumer proposition for charities to offer to their supporter base as a way of generating income for the charity and saving each household around £200 annually on their energy bills. Ethical Goods has also provided ethical accreditation to My Utility Genius for it's service and operations.

In addition we have worked with NJ to promote their ethical sourcing capabilities and products and introduce them to other social enterprises who can add to the strong ethical supplier base they maintain.

Pele Sports are an innovative sports wear producer. Ethical Goods facilitated a partnership between Pele Sports and a charity  called the Street Child World Cup which was last held in Rio in 2014. Pele Sports provided more than £100,000 in seed funding for the event as well as some product which supported the Street Child World Cup event, charity and campaign work with street children around the world.

Ethical Goods has formed a partnership with Ski Solutions, Britain’s original and largest specialist ski travel agency and specialist tour operator. The partnership supports Ski Solutions to be able to increase sales and service by basing their products on ethical priciples and suppliers and donating profits to charity partner Make A Wish UK. Ski Solutions make people’s skiing dreams come true, so it was appropriate that profits from their tour packages and a ’round-up’ scheme helped to make the dreams of children with life-limiting illnesses, come true. In addition, Ski Solutions ran a ‘Ski the World’ fundraising event and  produced a photography book to raise funds for Make a Wish UK.

Ethical Goods worked with Harrogate Spring Water to develop a new brand of bottled water called Thirsty Planet which gives a percentage of profits to projects in Africa through the charity Pump Aid who provide clean water and sanitation to developing communities. To date more than £2 million has been provided for these projects and sales have increased dramatically and consistently.
