12 Days of Christmas – Day 5

Day 5’s Sustainable Christmas Gift Idea – Babysitting

Ok so it sounds like a really obvious one, and if you aren’t used to having kids, might seem more hassle than it’s worth. But if you have kids or know people that do, you will also know how precious time is away from the little angels from time to time. Inflation has hit the babysitting market too, and whilst we don’t want to ruin any budding young babysitters business, we figure offering a freebie to close friends and family will be a welcome treat.

By offering to babysit your loved ones children on a Friday or Saturday night could prove to be a very popular and valuable gift. They will love leaving their kids with someone they trust and know well, especially if you have done it before. if you want to go all out you could even offer to buy the parents dinner or movie tickets too. Write out a card or voucher so you have something visual to remind the recipients to redeem the offer too.

Why is this sustainable? Well nothing is as precious as sustaining a human life – so we think this ticks all the boxes. Again it’s a gift that helps people live life well and one that is deeply thoughtful and will no doubt be appreciated.

After all, Christmas is all about a baby – so it seems to us this is the perfect gift to give and celebrate Christmas!
